The Sweet Silence before Sunrise

The Sweet Silence before Sunrise, was completed the first day of spring, March 2011. The book contains text from An Island Garden, by Celia Thaxter.  It was painted and lettered in watercolor and gouache by Nancy Leavitt on Arches text wove paper with Katie MacGregor handmade paper used as endpapers and for the painted paper binding. Joelle Leavitt Webber of Mermaid Bindery bound and boxed the book. Below are a few page spreads from the finished book.
